Her brio is at the service of a surprising interiority... Festival Piano à Saint-Ursanne in Switzerland. Beautiful cantus in the form of harmonic arpeggios also come under the performer's hand as the most natural gift...

Arsenal de Metz - Le républicain Lorrain

From the very first notes, the audience was carried away by a young musician who seemed almost to be at one with the piano.

Musique espérance de Saint Dié des Vosges, Liberté de l'est.

...he drew from his instrument noble, lyrical, deep tones, bubbling with life...

Pure happiness - Alsace.

Delicate and subtle, intense and concentrated...

Virtuoso at the piano... - Château des tourelles.

Eric Artz's performance literally transported his audience, thanks to a dense and eclectic repertoire that was by turns romantic, technical and lyrical.

Eric Artz at the piano, an angel passes by - Brive.

A perfect musician of almost too serene virtuosity, Eric Artz gives pride of place to the most insolent brilliance, without forgetting the shadows or the unspoken, in Schubert's impromptus, Chopin's and Liszt's Rhapsodie Hongroise.

Monde de la musique - Patrick Szersnovicz: Festival Piano en Saintonge.

In the late morning of Sunday, a concert followed by an aperitif - a much-appreciated innovation - allowed Éric Artz, Prix de la ville de Genève, to return to the chapel he had set alight at the first edition of the festival. In a highly diversified set-up, Éric chiseled some magnificent jewels in his approach to Scarlatti. His percussive playing, full of twists and turns, and his harpsichord-like technique lent a great deal of authenticity to this work. Schumann's Vienna Carnival was an opportunity for him to demonstrate his ability to burst forth with shimmering, joyous colors. But it was in Prokofiev's 6th sonata that he brought his virtuosity to a climax...

L'Alsace - L.A.M : Wesserling Festival.

Eric Artz, winner of the Prix de Genève, among others, is a master of color and rhythm, without ever falling into facile effects.

Resmusica - Francoise Ferrand: Bagatelle Festival.

Éric Artz enchanted the audience at the Château des Tourelles with his virtuosity, expression, sensitivity and warm rapport with his listeners.

The country - Patrice Boufflers: Château des Tourelles - Belfort.

Musician recommendations

With his rare musicality, he's made for the stage...

Aldo Ciccolini, Master-Classes at the Festival Radio France et Montpellier

I've heard young pianist Eric Artz in concert several times, and I've always been amazed by his musical maturity and, above all, his originality. He's a very sincere musician, with a gift for communication and total commitment.

Bruno Rigutto, CNSMDP Paris

I've known Eric Artz for many years, and I can still remember the conviction that emanated from his playing (he was 10 years old at the time), forcing his ears to listen. Since then, he has completed brilliant musical studies, acquired a fine technique and enriched himself through contact with many musicians. But he has also retained a rare ability to move and touch his audience. I've heard him many times in concert, and I've witnessed his gift for captivating the audience with his playing, thanks to an artist's genuine sensitivity that knows how to create that rare contact ...

Olivier Gardon, CRR Paris.

I was chairman of the Jury at the Epinal piano competition (France). Mister Eric Artz went through the finals with great sucess. He has a very original, fine and charismatic personnality. His playing doesn't look to any other ; he has, above all, a sound, a signature. He gives such wonderfull colours and temperament to the repertoire he plays.

Philippe Cassard, Paris.

Organizer recommendations

In November 2010, as part of the French Notes series of piano recitals we organized in Israel, we welcomed the young French pianist Eric Artz. During the four concerts he gave in Haifa, Beer Sheva, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, he won over the Israeli public, which varied greatly from place to place, with his talent and simplicity. In a Chopin program, as his birthday obliged, he showed not only his talent, but also a maturity that is rare for his age. The highlight of the series was undoubtedly the recital in the main auditorium of the Tel Aviv Opera House, where, in front of 1,400 people, he won over this demanding audience, who gave him a triumphant welcome. Eric Artz fully justified the confidence we had shown in him by extending this invitation, and represented the young generation of French pianists with talent.

Hervé de Colombel, Director of the Institut Français de Tel Aviv

I'd like to say that Eric Artz is an established young musician, whom I've had the pleasure of engaging on several occasions. He's a fine, poetic performer, which is quite rare in today's often uniform world of interpretation.

Jean-Yves Clément, Artistic Director of the Festival de Nohant and the Lisztomanias de Châteauroux, General Curator of the Year of Liszt in France

As part of the Festival Jeunes Talents de Metz/Moselle/Lorraine/ organized by the "Fondation Jeunes Talents", Eric ARTZ's performances were much appreciated by audiences and critics alike. The charisma of this young pianist always creates a warm rapport with the audience. His pianistic potential gives him great ease of playing, but his virtuosity is always at the service of his musical qualities. His well-constructed interpretations remain spontaneous, giving the impression of a "re-creation". But Eric ARTZ's greatest quality is his humility in the face of such a difficult art, and his determination to go further and further, to constantly progress.

Mireille KRIER, founding president of the "young talent" concerts at the Arsenal de Metz

Eric Artz has taken part in our Festival three times. Each time, the audience's reaction to this artist's charisma, professionalism, musicality and breathtaking virtuosity has been extremely enthusiastic.

Didier Kleimberg at the Festival International de Wesserling in Alsace
